Our Impressions

On the first day of our short get-away trip, we always try to squeeze in a short hike after a long drive to get the blood circulating in our legs. Furnace Mountain hike was the perfect choice. There was an option to extend this hike into a 7.7 mile hike but, unfortunately, due to our long drive from home, we started the hike in the afternoon and were left with limited day light hours, so opted for the shorter version. Even the shorter 4.3 miles of hiking was a great workout with a very rewarding view from the top. We headed to our temporary home to relax and prepare for a lengthy hike the next day.
