Introduction
AllTrails link to Little Stony Man to Stony Man Loop Hike
Stony Man Mountain is a short hike in Shenandoah National Park but offers some of the best summit views in the park. It is the second highest peak in Shenandoah. Little Stony Man overlook is home to a popular rock climbing wall. We took the longest way to hike this mountain via the Appalachian Trail – Little Stony Man to Stony Man.

Our Impressions
This was our last day in Shenandoah. We had a long drive home so we picked a short hike. Also, the weather was still very cold with snow flurries. What a great pick! Like the Hawksbill Mountain hike from the day before, Stony Man is a true gem. Despite the short distance of the hike, the views are absolutely stunning, starting from the first overlook point, Little Stony Man Cliffs, all the way to the summit of Stony Man Mountain.
